Coastal Maine offers an incredible quality of life. Biddeford combines the best of the old and the new: a historic downtown with unique eateries and beautiful vintage homes, plus a range of popular restaurants and handy big-box store shopping. This area is great for families, with excellent public and private schools. The region offers affordable real estate in several nearby towns. Pick a home in town, in a welcoming suburban neighborhood, or in a country setting just minutes inland.

Many of Maine’s most popular sandy beaches and several state parks are in easy reach. Area recreation includes golf, hiking, fishing, biking and horseback riding, along with a wide variety of boating – from kayaking and paddle-boarding to sailing. Locals and vacationers alike enjoy the area’s amusement parks and water parks! Wintertime sports include cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling – with excellent downhill skiing and snowboarding just a short drive away.

Biddeford is just south of Portland, the largest city in Maine, with a metro area of 500K+ people. Portland’s Arts District is home to museums and theaters and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. Explore the historic Old Port district, where century-old brick buildings house quaint shops and galleries and scores of pubs and restaurants. The quality of Portland’s eateries has earned a national reputation, with titles including “Foodiest Small Town in America” and “Best American City for Food.” Portland makes many more top 10 lists, including “Best Cities for Hipsters,” “Most Educated City in America,” “Coolest Small Cities in America,” and “Best Adventure Town in the East.” Portland is the #3 “Best City for Families” (Parenting), and “America’s Most Livable City” (Forbes). Portland hosts a convenient international airport, and three minor league sports teams (hockey, baseball and basketball).

All the amenities of Boston are an easy 90 minutes from Biddeford by car, or by rail on the popular “Down Easter” line, with a train station located in neighboring Saco. Think of the possibilities: world-champion sporting events, concerts, theatre and ballet, early American historical sites, and another major international airport.
