Ready to consider three years of experience or more to step into a leadership role.
Oversees provision of Behavioral Health services throughout the Medical Center.
Provides expertise and leadership to staff regarding the provision of Behavioral Health services.
Participates in developing and implementing new programs to meet divisional needs; evaluates programs and recommends changes or modifications as appropriate.
Provides clinical supervision to behavioral health staff and residents regarding their diagnostic and treatment cases; performs chart reviews as directed.
Leads diagnostic and treatment planning conferences and other case conferences as needed.
Assesses the educational needs of the behavioral health staff and provides staff development programs to meet those needs.
Recommends to the Medical Executive Committee initial appointment, reappointment, and modifications of criteria and clinical privileges for behavioral health staff.
Assesses and recommends resources for needed patient care services not provided by the hospital and secures treatment, as needed.
Fulfills case recording, statistical reporting and other documentation requirements on a timely and accurate basis.
Ensures that assessment, treatment and patient care responsibilities are delivered with knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Appoints behavioral health staff to division committees and monitors participation.
Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of high quality behavioral health treatment.
Recommends and maintains a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff psychiatrists to provide behavioral health care and service. Monitors adherence to policies regarding time and attendance.
Oversees the administration of the behavioral health residency-training program, including resource and program management to ensure that the program meets the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education standards.
Facilitates the development of fellowship and sub specialty programs aligned with the hospital’s mission.
