Hospitalist - Locum - Laplace, LA

MPLT Healthcare is looking for physicians who Understand the Urgency, Never Give Up, and Have the Courage to Excel in the forever changing medical industry! We have numerous opportunities for an experienced hospitalist physician with highly competitive pay rates in Louisiana.

Position Details:

• We typically have 3 physicians during the day. Physicians work from 6 am to 6 pm typically 7 days on followed by 7 days off. We typically switch on Tuesdays.
• No procedures required. The physicians take call every 3 day. The on-call physician assigns patients to themselves and other physicians in a round robin fashion.
• We have an open ICU. We have support from pulmonary/critical care, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, OB/Gyn, hematology/oncology, anesthesia, and ID services.
• We typically have a daytime APP that helps with low acuity mostly observation patients.
• Our physicians are typically start with about 15 patients and can expect to admit about 3 or 4 admissions and consults.
• Overnight we have an APP that provides nighttime coverage.
• Our hospital medicine physicians are not part of Code Blue or Rapid Response teams however are expected to go and see their patient if they suffer an acute change in their clinical condition.
• Our preference is for board certified internists but would also consider boast certified family medicine physicians as well.
• It typically takes about 3 months for credentialing and obtain clinical privileges which requires committee approval. Physicians will also need to be credentialed with payers.
• We use EPIC as our EMR.
