Locums Neuro Hospitalist needed ASAP in Central IL

Alliance Health Staffing is in need of inpatient neurology coverage for general neuro hospitalist service and stroke neurology coverage in Central IL. This position will start once credentialed, and will go until at least July of 2023.

Position details:

- Hours: Tues-Mon, 7a - 7p, no call
- EPIC EMR

- A typical day begins about 7a-8a. You will meet with the residents and APNs on the first day of the week (which starts on Tuesday) and get an idea of the patient list and work flow, and of how the inpatient teams work.

- Typical day then means rounding on patients on the inpatient general neurology lists that we are either the primary or consultant service on, ensuring the appropriate neurologic care is being delivered, and teaching the residents about inpatient neurologic therapeutics, pathophysiology when appropriate, and how to be better inpatient neurologists.

- Afternoon checkout for the night shift residents/APNs occurs at 4:30 pm and usually the day is complete by 5:30. There is no overnight call expected of the locums physician and, as mentioned above, the week starts on Tuesday and ends the following Monday.

- The shift would be 7a-7p, but most of the day’s rounding and inpatient care would typically be done in the 7:30a-6p hours. You would need to be available for resident/APN questions and/or concerns until 7pm by phone.
