Portland, Maine: We invite a skilled ICU/CCU Hospitalist to join the excellent 24/7 inpatient care team of a respected 200+ bed medical center in the highly desirable city of Portland, Maine. This is a full time, employed position with a hospital that accepts all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. This hospital is financially strong, as part of the state’s second largest healthcare system.
Hospitalists here have a schedule of 12-hour shifts, either days or nights. You will manage CCU admissions, consultations and procedures, with intensivist back-up as appropriate. Training and support are available to help you develop any needed/required skills. Your practice will not be limited to the CCU – and will include admissions and care for patients on other medical floors. That said, the priority for your schedule and your responsibilities will be the critical patients.
Join several high-quality colleagues caring for adult patients, and supervising and collaborating with nurses and physician extenders. Your voice is important in the design, implementation and growth of the hospital’s CCU service, and will include clinical leadership roles, and the ongoing education of CCU nurses and staff. You will perform medical consultations, educate patients and their families, and participate in clinical quality improvement projects and patient safety initiatives. Managing good relationships and appropriate communication with referring providers is also key. This team seeks the highest level of patient satisfaction! Teaching opportunities are also available in association with the nearby medical school.
