Hospital-employed Pediatric Intensivist team recruiting a 5th physician in 2019 at 
Wesley Children’s Hospital in Wichita, KS 

Current intensivists enjoy the best of both clinical and academic practice within the only children’s hospital in Kansas, housed in a Regional Referral Center with Level 1 Adult & Level 2 Pediatric Trauma center, with clinical faculty appointments to Department of Pediatrics at Kansas University School of Medicine - Wichita. Recent major investment of $50 Million dollars in Wesley Children’s Hospital have provided new General Pediatric Unit, PICU, and Peds ED, and plans to renovate Pediatric Dialysis, Pediatric Sedation, Peds Pharmacy, and Peds Hem/Onc Units for 2019-20. 

The physicians provide 24x7 in-house care in a 15-bed PICU plus 11-bed sedation/infusion unit. This practice cared for over 1,240 PICU and Intermediate-PICU patients for 2017 (med-surg & trauma patients – no cardiothoracic or ECMO program). The pediatric intensivists staff a separate Pediatric Sedation Unit with over 1,050 moderate and deep sedations for 2017. Pediatric acute / chronic dialysis and infusion center programs are also based at this facility. KUSM-W clinical responsibilities include mentoring 3rd and 4th year medical students as well as pediatric, med-peds, and family medicine residents. Over 15 pediatric subspecialty physician services are available for assistance with patient care, as well as Peds Surgery, Peds Radiology, Peds Anesthesia, and Peds Genetics/Metabolic Disease specialties. 

• The successful candidate will be BC or Board-eligible in Pediatric Critical Care. 
• Compensation includes base and bonus potential commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance available.
