Practice Scope: Behavioral health clinical services to include comprehensive evaluation and treatment for most emotional and interpersonal problems for adults, adolescents and children. Individual and group therapy via integrated treatment teams to include psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic interventions.

Work Schedule: Devote 40 hours per week to the SAMG Behavioral Health directly seeing outpatients, supervising APPs and being available to staff for questions, problem solving and clinic management.
Call: No current call responsibilities nor weekend or holiday services are anticipated unless otherwise negotiated.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400 provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist (MD/DO). Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary behavioral health services within the region. The ideal candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care while demonstrating and modeling our organization’s core values of reverence, a commitment to those who are poor, justice, stewardship and integrity. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with SAMG management in the efficient and harmonious functions of the clinic. This is to include the development of evidenced based, cost effective protocols of care for the behavioral health clinic staff and will modify and update treatment protocols as required. The well-qualified candidate will also work with SAMG and Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) leadership in the design and implementation of novel ambulatory behavioral health programs that increase quality and general health status while reducing overall cost of care.
As a member of the medical group, you will maintain and strengthen the Health System’s behavioral health program across all communities we serve. The opportunity also requires the granting of privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and hospitals receiving consultative telemedicine services from the Saint Alphonsus behavioral healthcare program. Individual with doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO); successful completion of an accredited ACGME psychiatry residency training program; current, unrestricted full license in Idaho to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA; board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) (or obtain such certifications within 3 years of employment/contract start).
