Caribou, Maine: We invite a friendly OB/GYN to join 40 providers in a multispecialty group/FQHC associated with an award-winning, community-owned 65-bed medical center serving 35,000 area residents in northeastern Maine.

Candidates with H1B or J1 visas are encouraged to apply – and expert legal counsel will be provided to manage the immigration process.

Join two physicians, two nurse midwives and an NP managing 200 deliveries per year, and providing compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care to women from several surrounding communities. This practice offers surgical procedures and urodynamic testing to meet the needs of a growing number of women in the area. They are proud of their reputation as the warmest, friendliest and most desirable place in The County to have a baby!

You will practice in a comfortable women’s health center (with fully integrated EMR) on the hospital campus. This acute care medical center has two wonderful birthing rooms – one with a whirlpool tub for both laboring and birthing – plus two cozy postpartum suites. (High-risk mothers and neonates are referred to the nearest tertiary hospital.) You will be impressed by this “Top Rural Hospital” – a multiple blue ribbon hospital (awarded by the Maine Health Alliance) and Women’s Choice Award winner. The medical center is rated in the top 2% of all US hospitals for health information and patient safety technology.

We are offering:

  • Employed position with FQHC
  • Visa support provided (J1/H1b)
  • Paid relocation to scenic, welcoming location
  • Highly competitive salary
  • Comfortable, supportive practice setting
  • Paid liability insurance
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid time off for CME, sick leave and vacations
  • Budget for your CME expenses
  • Paid professional fees and expenses
  • Tax-free federal medical education loan assistance

Northern Maine is a wonderful place to live and work. Caribou is the most northeastern city in the US – a dynamic community that is economically, culturally and socially inviting. The community offers high quality public schools, with a student-to-teacher ratio of just 14:1!

Caribou boasts an extremely low crime rate, and recreation galore: A multi-million-dollar Recreation and Wellness Center offers indoor running, basketball, swimming and other programs for all ages, and the Maine Winter Sports Center is a premier cross-country skiing venue, hosting International and World Cup events.

Rural northern Maine enjoys a picturesque four-season environment with abundant wildlife including moose, deer and bald eagles – reasons many seasonal visitors flock to the area to enjoy a quiet summer retreat, or a winter adventure. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets on area lakes, camping and hiking in peaceful forests, hunting and fishing, canoeing and kayaking on lakes and rivers, or snowmobiling or dog-sledding across groomed trails!

A commercial airport in neighboring Presque Isle (20 minutes away) offers direct flights to Boston daily.

Many residents of northern Maine enjoy visiting Canada – Quebec City is a scenic five hour drive – or Bangor, Maine (Maine’s third largest city), a three hour drive south.
