Practice Scope: Full-spectrum community-based family medicine practice.

Availability: Immediate but will also consider 2019 candidates

Work Schedule: Traditional clinic work week, Monday through Friday, no less than 32 hours of scheduled patient contact time

Call: Adult inpatient and long-term care patient management (call presently 1:3), initially shared with SAMG/independent primary care physicians.

Practice Opportunity Highlights: Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 325+ provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a family practitioner (MD/DO) to work full-time at its Valley Medical Clinic in Baker City, OR. SAMG Valley Medical Clinic is dedicated to providing services for a full spectrum of adult medicine patients, including those with pulmonary, diabetic and arthritic/autoimmune conditions. The physician must demonstrate a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and work cooperatively with associates and other providers to include physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

The ideal candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care while demonstrating and modeling our organization’s core values of reverence, a commitment to those who are poor, justice, stewardship and integrity. Requirements include a strong clinical background and a desire to develop a full-time medical practice to support the patients and families the clinic serves.  In providing this support and as a member of the medical group, you will also need to obtain Oregon and Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System’s family medicine program across all communities we serve.  The opportunity also requires the granting of ambulatory privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and full privileges at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City.

Community Highlights: Baker City, Oregon is situated in the valley between the rugged Elkhorn Mountains and the jagged, snowy Wallowa Mountains. Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO); successful completion of an accredited family medicine residency program; board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians(AOBFP) (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment); full license in Oregon and Idaho to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with the Oregon and Idaho Boards of Pharmacy and DEA.
