Just one hour south of Memphis and a major airport! A small town charm that permeates through a historical and cultural community, working among friends whose kids play and go to school together, motivating and fair department directors, good pay and benefits, and working at a regional medical center that serves many counties make our hospital a desired place to be a medical professional. We are a strong community hospital company built on serving smaller communities. Our town has a population of 25,000 and we are in a community of 200,000.
Today a one hour commute to work isn’t out of the question for those who live in a “vast suburban sprawl” or a large city. We have no traffic congestion. In the same time it takes for many people to get to work, we can be in Memphis, the 2nd largest city in the southeast, according to the 2000 census. But we seem much farther away from big city life and its hassles because we are bordered by some of the richest farmland in the United States, and this “buffer” helps maintain our small town charm and unique cultural identity that is known around the world, as opposed to suburbs that have grown out of control and often look and feel the same.

Until you visit, it’s hard to appreciate the majesty of the Mississippi Delta. Our history is as rich as the soil from centuries of annual floods of the River before the massive levee was built decades ago. Before mechanization of the agricultural industry when field work was done by hand, life was hard for the working man, and before him the sharecropper. From that era “The Blues” was born, and through JC Handy, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Ike Turner, and BB King, our town is the Mecca and home of this fascinating music genre, which gave birth to Rock-n-Roll. We’re visited by global tourists, as well as recording artists like Elvis Costello and Paul Simon who record in studios in town with some of the greatest blues musicians in the world who live here. Music still has a magical way of bringing us together. The award winning actor Morgan Freeman lives in the town and owns a copule of restaurants there as well.

Just an hour south of Memphis, the second largest city in the southeast* and its international airport, our town offers a “rural chic” lifestyle. We’re also under thirty minutes to Tunica, “The South’s Casino Capital” and its world-class entertainment facilities, the vast Moon Lake, and inside an hour to major universities, but we are “buffered” by these fields of cotton and row crops, which allow for our unique identity and charm. Enjoy warm climate year round for golf and outdoor activities!
