We are seeking a compassionate adult Inpatient Clinical Psychiatrist for the second largest hospital in Vermont. This A-Rated medical center hosts 180 beds, serving 85,000+ residents. This friendly, growing community is located in scenic central Vermont. This multi-award winning, nonprofit hospital is a Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award winner scoring in the top 5% for teamwork between providers and nurses, expertise of the nursing staff, and performance of Administration. Physicians requiring a J1 or H1b visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Join a dedicated team managing this 23-bed adult inpatient unit including a 17-bed general admission unit and an adjacent 6-bed psychiatric ICU. 90% of inpatients are voluntary admissions however, this is a locked unit. The State of Vermont has recognized this team for reducing the incidence of seclusion and restraint. Your practice philosophy should support practice models that minimize all forms of coercive treatment. Call is shared on a 1:6 basis, with an experienced crisis team handling the ER. The hospital will support physicians with specialty interests by providing the ability to offer part time outpatient services if you wish. Those with an Addiction specialty will be given priority.
